As of about two minutes ago when I hit the ‘Publish’ button, Poker Solitaire is now available for Android devices! If you’re reading this on an Android device, this link should take you to Poker Solitaire on the Android Market.
Like the iPhone version, the Android build of Poker Solitaire was done using the Corona SDK. In fact, the Android version of Poker Solitaire uses the same code base as the iPhone version, with only minor tweaks to handle platform differences - I’d say that over 95% of the code is exactly the same.
(I’d actually intended to get the Android version live sometime in May, but at the time there was a bug in the SDK that was show-stopper. It was actually fixed by June - the Ansca guys are incredibly responsive to bug reports, which is one of the great things about working with Corona. But by June, things were just way too busy to get the app out. Having some spare time while traveling last week meant I could finally get this out the door.)
On a related note, can I just say how amazed I am at the process of submitting an app to the Android Market! I hit ‘Publish’, picked up my Nexus One, went to the Android Market, searched for ‘Poker Solitaire’, and there was my app. Very cool.
